An established custom manufacturer located in the San Fernando Valley is looking for a dynamic individual to lead our Purchasing Division. Neutraderm, Inc is a full service skin care and cosmetics manufacturer. This is an extremely demanding job. Must have tough skin. Must have 5 years plus experience in the cosmetic industry putchasing raw materials.This position will be responsible for all purchasing functions including ordering of raw material, cycle counts, inventory controls, material warehousing and managing the quarterly physical inventories. This individual will also be responsible for the timely purchase and delivery of the raw materials, while maintaining workable relationships with suppliers, engineering and other shop personnel.
Supplier Relationships both domestically and in Asia: Develops internal and external relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams with regard to the following:
- Support in reviewing supplier samples and/or demonstrations with the buying organization management and user departments.
- Maintain and assist in developing lists of recommended sources.
- Coordinate supplier visits and evaluations to determine suitability.
- Measure supplier performance using rating systems or predetermined standards.
- Skillfully apply appropriate procurement approach in negotiations. Independently prepare and lead negotiations to conclusion
- Resolves quality problems with suppliers and user departments and develops measurements for improvement and target setting.
- Develop and drive effective relationships with suppliers
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent, with 5 + years of purchasing experience. A strong working knowledge of Excel & Word and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The right candidate has experience in driving and managing change, able to lead by influence rather than by control.

Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

The focus of the position is to develop and execute purchase orders and reconcile inventory across a network of supplier partners.
