Once every few years, the Board of Beauty Industry West seeks to honor a special person, an innovator who has contributed to the advancement of the beauty industry by establishing milestones and markers for others to follow.
Madame Aida Thibiant is such a person.
She has been chosen as our honoree for 2008. Her accomplishments in the field of skin and body care as well as being one of the leaders in establishing a trend in the beauty service sector known as a "DaySpa." This, along with her expertise in television marketing and her endorsement of a well-known television skin care line are just a few of the reasons why Aida has been singled out as our Legend of 2008.
Aida will share some of her early experiences about how she came to this industry, what she learned, and how she grew her businesses for the past 60 years.
She is a true innovator, a tireless entrepreneur and a wonderful example of one who seeks new levels and establishes a new standard for others to follow.

For nearly 60 years, the name Aida Thibiant has been synonymous with the highest level of skin care expertise and service on the West Coast.
Clients of her DaySpa in Beverly Hills include some of the brightest stars in the entertainment world, many of whom call Madame Thibiant their "skin care guru." Her location on Canon Drive has been a mecca for A-List clients for decades, and her original spa treatments, facials and beauty luxuries still set a standard today which others emulate.
Aida has pursued the secrets of Beauty Science from many different perspectives, first as an esthetician, then as a product developer, beauty marketer, and spa service provider. She is also well-known as a supporter of others entering the beauty business through their R & D and manufacturing facility.
Originally founded by her husband, Thibiant International, in Chatsworth, is a techno-forward contract and private label manufacturer that has developed thousands of products and launched hundreds of new skin and body care product lines and companies. Now run by her son, Patrick, it continues its rapid expansion.
Aida's enthusiasm for our industry, her vigor for life, and her uncompromising standard of excellence make her an enduring figure in our industry and an inspiration to us all.
