John Maly is a second generation icon in the professional
industry that has shaped the professional beauty industry. After growing his west coast distribution to one of the largest and most successful in the country, his firm was acquired by L'Oreal in 2007.
 
Today he is once again bringing products to the market with his cosmetic company Mirabella Beauty. Join us to learn about his personal journey and how he sees the industry unfolding in the years ahead.

Bio
John grew up in a family hair care distribution company in Michigan.  After graduating from Indiana University, he went to work for Deloitte Touche in Chicago as an auditor. After a couple of years working for the big firm, John started his own consulting firm for salons. Two
years into growing this business, his family asked if he would run the distribution company they bought from Redken in Los Angeles. Starting with $2 MM in sales and 25 employees, the company grew to $200 MM and 1,000 employees. This western distribution giant was sold to L'Oreal in 2007. Since John has started a private equity group which has acquired 3 distribution companies outside the salon industry.
 
Mirabella Beauty was a brand sold through Maly's that John acquired along the way. He now is the President of that color cosmetics company and is trying to repeat the success he had with Maly's.
