Beauty Industry West (BIW), a trade organization servicing the beauty industry, has created the BIW Scholarship to support students at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). This initiative was led by BIW’s Volunteer Chair, Matt Driver.

The scholarships are awarded to students who aspire to have careers in the beauty industry. Through BIW's close collaboration with FIDM, these students have supported us by volunteering at our monthly luncheons and our special events. This scholarship is a great way to give back to those who have helped us. BIW is very excited to support the next generation of the beauty industry.

According to Driver, “A sincere thank you to our board members, members and guests who have supported the scholarship fund. We look forward to continuing to offer this scholarship to FIDM students in the future.”

Jessica Tanwar | FIDM Student

She is currently studying to obtain her B.S. in Business Management, with a Minor in Beauty Industry Management. She is a Social Media Marketing Intern with Kate Somerville Skincare. Tanwar aspires to work in Public Relations within the Beauty Industry.

Shira Berman | FIDM Student

She is currently working towards her B.S. in Business Management, with minors in Beauty Merchandising, Marketing, Beauty Industry Management. She currently runs her own freelance makeup artistry business, Beauty By Shira. She has a passion for product development and a strong professional makeup artistry background.  Berman aspires to work with a variety of cosmetics brands to create innovative products.
